Among those profiting from the pandemic, Amazon boss witnessed an increase of $ 34.6 billion in assets, the most among billionaires.

According to CNBC, in just 2 months, total assets of the top billionaires in the US increased by 434 billion USD. Accordingly, Amazon boss and Facebook CEO have the most money.

A report by the Institute for Policy Studies shows that e-commerce owner Jeff Bezos has added $ 34.6 billion to his fortune thanks to a surge in online shopping demand. Mark Zuckerberg – the founder of Facebook – has an additional $ 25 billion.

The report is based on Forbes data surveying more than 600 US billionaires between March 18 – when the blockade was in place until May 19.

The Covid-19 pandemic helped large and technology-focused companies benefit greatly as the US economy and its workforce were grappling with the worst economic crisis in history.

According to the report, the net worth of US billionaires increased by 15% over a two-month period, from 2,948 trillion to 3,382 trillion.

The five giants at the top of the billionaire tower, including Bezos, Bill Gates, Zuckerberg, Warren Buffett and Larry Ellison make the most money. The total value of added assets of these 5 billionaires reached 76 billion USD.

Electric vehicle billionaire Tesla Elon Musk is among the billionaires with the largest increase in wealth. In just two months, Musk’s net worth increased 48%, to $ 36 billion, ranked 31st on the list of the richest people on the planet.

Zuckerberg’s fortune increased 46% to 80 billion USD. Bezos’ net worth is US $ 147 billion, up 31%. Bezos’ ex-wife, MacKenzie Bezos, who shares an Amazon stake in the divorce, also increased by a third of the value of the fortune and reached $ 48 billion.

However, there are still some people who witnessed the decline in assets during the social separation period, especially the billionaires in the tourism and hotel industries.

Ralph Lauren lost $ 100 million in his fortune to $ 5.6 billion, while hotel owner John Pritzker recorded a net worth drop of $ 2.56 billion.
