New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on April 24 cited research showing that corona virus enters the state from Europe, not China.

Cuomo also said that President Donald Trump issued a travel ban too late to prevent the spread of the virus.

The New York governor cited research from Northeastern University (in Boston, Massachusetts), estimating that “more than 10,000 New Yorkers could have been infected by the time the first state of the case was confirmed. 1/3 ”.

Cuomo said he believed Italy could be the source of the infection, according to Reuters.

The New York governor said that President Trump issued a ban on the entry of tourists from China on February 2, just over a month after news of the disease outbreak in Wuhan came and a month later. , Mr. Trump has just announced “travel restrictions from Europe”. According to Cuomo, the corona virus is now spreading in the United States.

“We closed the front door with a ban on Chinese travel, that’s true,” Mr. Cuomo said during a press conference. “But we left the door open after the virus left China at the same time we banned Chinese tourism.”

With these views, the New York governor threw himself into a heated debate about how the corona virus entered the United States. For example, can President Trump and Cuomo himself save more lives if they act sooner.

He thinks he has gone faster than any other state in enforcing the blockade.

At the same time, Mr. Cuomo said that the president’s action to stop subsidizing WHO last week after declaring China gave “false information” about the disease, was right. He wondered if the WHO would respond properly to the health crisis.

However, Mr. Cuomo is primarily aiming at the slow response of US leaders, even as reports of increasingly worrying about the situation in China in February about the virus spread and how fast to kill.

Cuomo said 2.2 million people had flown from Europe to New York and New Jersey airports in those two months and many of them were capable of carrying germs.

“We took action two months after China broke out. When you look back, does anyone think the virus is still in China waiting for us to take action after two months? ”Mr. Cuomo said.

Mr. Cuomo also announced positive news about the epidemic in New York. The number of people hospitalized for Covid-19 to April 23 was a total of 14,258, decreasing for the 10th day in a row. He reported an additional 422 deaths, the lowest number of the day since March 31.

To date, the United States has a total of 927,000 cases (accounting for one third of the global cases) and 52,415 deaths from Covid-19, the highest in the world.

New York state alone has 272,000 cases and 16,646 deaths from corona virus until April 25. More than 730,000 tests have been performed in this state, out of a total of about 5 million tests conducted throughout the United States.
