China’s Hubei Province reported only one confirmed case of Covid-19 infection and 12 deaths on March 16.

The newly confirmed case is in Wuhan, the provincial capital and the epicenter of the disease.

According to Xinhua, the latest report brought the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the province to 67,799.

As of March 16, Hubei had no new confirmed cases of Covid-19 in 12 consecutive days in 16 cities and counties outside of Wuhan.

On March 17, the National Health Commission said it had received reports of 21 confirmed cases of Covid-19 infection and 13 deaths in mainland China on March 16.

In addition to 12 new deaths reported in Hubei, another was in Shaanxi province.

Also on March 16, 930 people were discharged from the hospital after recovering, while the number of serious cases decreased from 202 to 2,830.

The total number of confirmed cases in the mainland amounted to 80,881 by the end of March 16, including 8,976 patients still being treated, 68,679 patients were discharged after recovering and 3,226 died from the disease. this.

Twenty cases from abroad to the mainland were reported on March 16. The Commission said 143 cases from abroad to China were recorded at the end of March 16.
