Russia confirmed that the number of new Covid-19 infections had reached a new record with 1,459 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the number of cases in the country to 10,131.

13 people have died in the past 24 hours. In total, Russia has 76 people died from corona virus infection.

New cases have been reported mainly in Moscow, the Moscow region and the St. Petersburg, the second largest city of Russia. Moscow has 6,698 cases so far, according to RIA Novosti. Nearly 700 people have recovered.

Corona virus patients in Moscow started receiving blood transfusions from recovered patients, the city mayor said. Discovered plasma may help existing patients recover from the virus.

The Sklifosovsky Emergency Hospital and the Moscow City Hospital No. 52 conducted blood transfusions for patients. This is Russia’s new Covid-19 treatment.

“We are constantly monitoring the research of colleagues in other countries. Similar studies are being carried out successfully in China, Germany and the USA. We hope that this new method will help us more effectively cope with the corona virus pandemic, ”said Anastasia Rakova, deputy mayor of Moscow for social development.

Antibodies contained in the recovered patient’s blood can be used to treat. 11 patients donated blood and 7 patients received blood transfusions.

This technology has been approved by the clinical committee on pandemic prevention Covid-19.

The Federal Agency for the Protection of Consumer Rights and Human Welfare (Rospotrebnazdor) says more than 1 million corona virus tests have been carried out across the country.

President Vladimir Putin extended the “do not work full-time nationwide” period until April 30 after the country sharply increased the number of corona virus infections.
