Russia has added 10,000 cases of Covid-19 in 2 consecutive days

On 4/5, Russia announced an additional 10,581 cases of corona virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases of this country to 145,268, the 7th highest in the world.

The number of cases of Covid-19 on May 3 was 10,633. Of the more than 10,000 new infections, Moscow, home to a population of 12.7 million, accounts for nearly 6,000 cases. Russia overtook China, Turkey and Iran in the number of cases last week.

76 people have died of corona virus in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths in Russia to 1,356, a much lower number than the top 10 countries such as the US, Italy, Spain, England and France.

While European countries are gradually lifting restrictions, Moscow, the center of the epidemic in Russia, is calling on residents to stay home despite the beautiful weather after a long winter.

Russia is also the European country with the highest number of infections a day, with thousands of cases a day. Still, the government has expressed its intention to gradually lift blockades from May 12, depending on the region, according to The Moscow Times.

President Vladimir Putin said the situation was still “very difficult” and warned that Russia had not yet overcome the peak of the epidemic.

Russia is rushing to set up field hospitals throughout Moscow. The Russian capital was “frozen” from March 30 to mid-April. After that, the government launched an electronic license system that allowed people to travel in case of need.
