South Korea on March 4 announced an additional 516 people infected with the Coronavirus, bringing the total number of live cases in this country to 5,328.

According to the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) update on the morning of March 4, the country detected 516 new infections. The total number of patients positive for the new strain of corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) in Korea is up to 5,328.

The number of cases in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province were 4,005 and 774. New cases were also concentrated in these two localities.

Other provinces also reported cases, of which Seoul had one more case, totaling 89. The number of cases in Busan, the second largest city, increased to 93. New cases were also recorded in one. Provinces include Gyeonggi, Gangwon and Namchecheong.

Across the country, the number of people checked and quarantined was up to 28,374, as of March 3, down more than 7,000 people from the previous day. South Korea also tested a total of 131,379 suspected people, with 102,965 people tested negative.

South Korea has so far recorded 34 deaths from corona virus infection. Most patients belong to the elderly group and have a complex history. Daegu, the fourth largest city in Korea, remains the highest number of cases in the country. About 60% of the people who are positive for the virus are associated with the New Heavenly sect branch in this city.

According to the Deputy Minister of Health Kim Gang Lip’s update, the government has completed testing of all Tan Thien Dia’s followers, focusing on those who show symptoms.

The next step in the fight against Covid, the South Korean health agency will expand testing with non-denominational people. In Daegu alone, about 2,300 people related to New Heavenly Earth were tested positive.

About 11,000 non-denominational people in Daegu were tested, of which 1,300 were positive. The population of the city is nearly 2.5 million.
