US government officials contend that China is the country behind attacks on a number of health authorities involved in US efforts to contain Covid-19.
U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration says China is attempting to steal corona virus studies as U.S. officials say they have witnessed a growing wave of cyberattacks on government agencies and American health organization, according to CNN.
Hospitals, research laboratories, health care providers and pharmaceutical companies have been attacked, US officials said.
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which oversees the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), is attacked every day, an official familiar with the attacks told CNN.

The main culprits for HHS attacks are Russia and China because of the size and scope of the attack, the official said.
After a moment of hesitation in announcing any specific country behind attacks on the health sector, US national security officials decided to name China.
The Justice Department said it was particularly concerned about attacks by Chinese hackers on US hospitals and laboratories to steal corona-related research.
“That is certainly a logical conclusion to all I have said,” said John Demers, head of the Department of Justice’s National Security Division, when asked about China’s actions in the talks. April 23 discussion about Chinese economic espionage organized by Strategic News Service. “We are used to cyber attacks targeting health centers, research centers, universities or anyone doing research in this field.”
“There is nothing more valuable than biomedical research related to vaccines to treat coronavirus at the present time,” says Mr. Demers. “It is of importance not only in commercial value, but any country, company or research laboratory that developed the vaccine first and could produce it will have a success story of geopolitical importance “.
On April 23, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who has repeatedly criticized China for the pandemic, told Fox News: “The biggest threat is not our ability to work with China on cyberspace. but making sure we have the resources available to protect ourselves from Chinese cyber attacks. “
